A Short Story (or a micro-story, really). Sci-fi in the Vein of Vanilla sky.

A while back, I entered a short story contest on Reedsy Blogs and came up on the shortlist of runners-up (exactly what place my story claimed, I don't know.) I haven't shared it other than in a quick post on social media, so I figure this spot, being evergreen, would be a better place to leave the link. If you're in the mood for a quick read before bed or in a waiting room somewhere (think about five minutes) then you can check it out here!
The prompt for the story contest was:
"It’s the last evening of your vacation and you’re watching the sunset with your friends/partner/family, wishing summer would never end. But just as the sun dips below the horizon, you notice it returning in reverse."
I hope you enjoy it. I might include it in a collection one day, but for now, this is the only way to read it.
